Walkthrough Before We Start
Old farmhouses in the hills rarely sit level. Before a board is laid, our lead installer reads the joists, checks the plywood for soft spots and plans the direction of the rows.

Everyone who walks into your house is on the Brazil Floors payroll, licensed, insured and NWFA certified. We never send subcontractors.
On the first morning the crew re-measures each room, stacks the cartons where they can acclimate and sets out reducers for every doorway before any nailing starts.
We stand behind our labor for one year, and the mill backs the wood with its own manufacturer warranty, so both the work and the boards are covered.

Boards laid parallel to the longest wall waste the least wood and make a long farmhouse kitchen look calmer.

Short pieces set in a zigzag give a country dining room the look of an older workshop floor.

Mitered board ends meet in sharp arrowheads that carry the eye down a long upstairs hall.

Rows set at 45 degrees help a small bedroom under the eaves read wider and hide a wall that has drifted out of square.

Square parquet blocks turned against each other make a tidy grid under a farm table.

Basket weave alternates short strips in each square, a handsome touch for a small den or a reading corner.

For nail down, the labor rate is $2.25/Sq Ft and it already carries the nails and the underlayment. If the wood comes from us too, installed unfinished oak totals $5.50/Sq Ft and prefinished totals $6.00/Sq Ft.
Usually yes. We check the joists and plywood first, fasten anything loose and correct what we can before the first row. If a section needs more than that, we say so at the estimate.
We do, and removal runs about $1.00/Sq Ft with the debris hauled off. If you want the rooms emptied and refilled, furniture moving is a flat $250.
Engineered planks can go there, solid oak cannot. We float them with glued joints at $2.00/Sq Ft of labor, so the slab is never nailed.
Delivery comes from our Natick warehouse the next day. Ask the estimator about dates for the install itself, since that depends on the crew calendar.
We buy direct and sell at contractor pricing, with up to 30% off material bought through us. Bring a written quote for the same floor and we will look at it with you.
Labor is paid when the crew arrives to begin, and material is paid when the boxes are delivered. Any sanding work is paid half when it starts and half with the last coat.
Labor carries a one year warranty and the maker covers the wood. Call 508-306-4190 and the same licensed, insured crew comes back to look at it.
