Walkthrough Before We Start
Salt air and shifting seasons are hard on a subfloor, so before ordering wood our lead installer presses on it for soft spots, checks door heights and decides which way the boards will run.

The people laying your floor are on the Brazil Floors payroll, never hired out. Each one is licensed, insured and NWFA certified.
Install day opens with a second measure. Cartons are counted into each room, reducers and thresholds are staged by the doorways, and only then does the first row get nailed.
You get one year on our labor, and the mill warranty on the boards themselves sits on top of that.

Rows follow the longest wall, which means the least waste and a calm look in a small cottage room.

Short pieces set in a zigzag give an older Elm Street hallway some crafted character.

Each board end is cut at an angle and the rows meet in a sharp V, a strong look for a remodeled open kitchen.

On a 45 degree diagonal the rows pull the eye across the room, so a small den near Morrill Point seems wider.

Parquet squares turn the grain from one block to the next, a neat detail for a sunroom with a view of the river.

Basket weave pairs short strips over and under, and a darker border frames it, which suits a study in an older Rings Island house.

Expect $2.25/Sq Ft for the nailing labor, with fasteners and underlayment already inside that rate. If we supply the wood too, it comes to $5.50/Sq Ft unfinished or $6.00/Sq Ft prefinished.
It can, with the right method. We test the subfloor moisture first, and nail and glue or a floating engineered floor are the safer picks for damp ground floors.
Engineered hardwood, floated on underlayment with glue in the joints so nothing is nailed into the concrete. Labor for that is $2.00/Sq Ft.
Yes. Tear-out of old flooring is about $1.00/Sq Ft, and the crew checks the plywood underneath before new wood goes on.
Delivery comes the next day from our Natick warehouse, so once you pick a board there is little waiting before the crew can begin.
We do, for a flat $250. That covers the rooms being floored, and everything goes back once the work is finished.
Labor is due when the crew arrives to start, and material when the boxes are delivered. Any sanding is split in half, at the start and at the final coat.
Our labor carries a one year warranty and the manufacturer covers the wood. Your installers are our own employees, licensed, insured and NWFA certified.
