Walkthrough Before We Start
Before any plank comes out of a box, our lead installer taps the subfloor for soft spots and checks every threshold, since many Whaling City houses have settled over a century or more.

Everybody in your house that day is Brazil Floors payroll, licensed, insured and NWFA certified, never a hired-in sub we have not trained.
Install day opens with a fresh tape measure pass. Cartons get stacked room by room, trim pieces are laid out at the doors, and then the first row is nailed.
You get a one year labor warranty from us and the mill's own materials warranty on the wood, so the work and the boards are both backed.

Rows run along the longest wall, which wastes the least wood and makes a narrow triple-decker flat look deeper.

Short pieces turn at right angles and are fitted one by one, a look that suits a formal dining room in an older house.

Every end is cut at 45 degrees, so the rows meet in sharp arrows that carry the eye down a long hall.

Boards laid on the diagonal stretch a small room, handy in a compact kitchen on the South Coast.

Squares of oak with the grain turned in alternating directions give a sunroom a classic parquet look.

Short strips woven over and under, often framed by a darker border, a good match for a front room in a pre-war house.

Our nail down rate for a New Bedford floor is $2.25/Sq Ft, and it already counts the nails and the underlayment. If you buy the wood through us, unfinished is $5.50/Sq Ft installed and prefinished is $6.00/Sq Ft.
Yes. We pull the carpet, padding and staples, fasten or replace weak subfloor and nail the new oak over a sound base. Taking out the old flooring adds roughly $1.00/Sq Ft.
Floating engineered hardwood at $2.00/Sq Ft of labor, because it needs no nails into concrete. It is the usual answer for a finished lower level.
We do both, plus refinishing, staining, repairs and stairs. One crew can handle several rooms in a single visit.
Boxes ship the next day from our Natick warehouse. Samples come to your house at the free estimate so you can see them on your own floor.
One new oak step costs $60 and bundles the tread, riser, nosing, stain and the install. Laminate on stairs is $50 per step.
Labor is due when the crew arrives to start. Material is paid when the boxes are delivered, and sanding jobs split 50% at the start and 50% at the final coat.
Labor carries a one year warranty from Brazil Floors. The wood itself keeps the manufacturer's warranty.
