Walkthrough Before We Start

Old farmhouses up Grassy Hill rarely sit on a level floor. Our lead checks joists, thresholds and the first step before any board is nailed.

Licensed, Insured Installation

Everyone on your Lyme job is licensed, insured, NWFA certified and on our payroll. No subcontractor ever touches your floor.

Remeasure and Material Count

Our lead arrives with a tape, a moisture meter and a pencil. Boxes, trim and transitions get staged by the door so nobody waits on a missing piece.

One Year Install Warranty

Labor is warranted for one year by Brazil Floors and the boards carry the mill warranty. Labor is settled at arrival and material at delivery.

/ FLOOR PATTERN DESIGNS

Hardwood Floor Patterns

Straight, herringbone, chevron, diagonal and parquet patterns are all laid by our crew, and borders or inlays are priced at the estimate. A straight lay fits a Lord Hill ranch, while chevron suits a remodel with a long hall.

Straight Lay Hardwood

Boards follow the long wall to waste the least wood and make a narrow hall feel longer.

Herringbone Hardwood

Herringbone zigzags across the room, with every short board cut square at both ends. A good match for a formal dining room.

Chevron Hardwood

Rows are cut at 45 degrees and meet in a sharp V down the middle of the room, a good fit for a wide family room.

Diagonal Hardwood

Boards run at 45 degrees to the walls, which draws the eye across a small room and makes it feel wider.

Checkerboard parquet made of square wood blocks turned in alternating directions, Brazil Floors

Checkerboard Parquet

Oak squares with alternating grain bring the old parquet look back into a sunroom or study.

Basket weave parquet with wood strips grouped in alternating squares, Brazil Floors

Basket Weave Parquet

Short oak strips woven over and under, often framed by a dark border, make a hallway feel crafted.

What does hardwood floor installation cost in Lyme?

Nail-down crew labor runs $2.25/Sq Ft, and nails plus underlayment ride along in that rate. Bring our wood into the job and the package lands at $5.50/Sq Ft unfinished or $6.00/Sq Ft prefinished.

Can new oak go over the old subfloor in my hillside house?

Yes, after the crew checks it for moisture, soft spots and slope. Any weak section is fastened or replaced first and listed on your quote.

Do you tear out the old floor?

We do, for about $1.00/Sq Ft, and the crew hauls away the old boards with the packaging. It is written on the estimate before you agree to anything.

How fast can the wood arrive?

Boxes leave our Milford warehouse the day after you order. The crew then lets the wood rest in the room as long as the species needs.

Nail-down or floating, which is better for me?

Nail-down is $2.25/Sq Ft and feels solid over a wood subfloor. Floating engineered boards are $2.00/Sq Ft and suit slabs and lower levels.

Do you discount the material?

Wood bought through Brazil Floors can come up to 30% off. Book the estimate online and $250 comes off as well.

When is payment due?

Crew labor is due the morning work begins, and the wood is due when the cartons arrive. Nothing is owed ahead of that.

Will your crew move the furniture?

Yes, furniture moving is a flat $250 for the job. The crew puts every piece back when the last row is done.
