Walkthrough Before We Start
Berkshire winters swell and shrink wood, and a century-old frame never stays square. Our lead installer checks the subfloor with a level, notes each doorway height and walks the stairs before settling on a layout.

The installers in your home are our own employees, never hired hands from another firm. Each is licensed and insured and holds NWFA certification.
The crew counts every carton on arrival and stacks it in the room it belongs to. Thresholds and reducers wait at each opening, so the nailer is never searching for a piece.
Workmanship is guaranteed for a year, and the mill backs the boards separately, so the labor and the lumber each have coverage.

Planks that run with the longest wall waste the least and stretch the room, a good move in a narrow hallway.

Short boards turn at right angles in a zigzag, each cut and fitted on its own. It suits a formal dining room in a Victorian.

Rows are mitered at 45 degrees and join in a neat V, an easy match for open layouts in newer homes.

Boards on a diagonal send the eye toward the far wall, making a compact kitchen feel broader.

Oak squares with alternating grain form a parquet floor, a time-honored choice for a sunroom.

Slim oak pieces woven in an over-under pattern, often framed by a dark border, fit a mill-era parlor.

Our nailed installation is $2.25/Sq Ft of labor, and the nails and underlayment ride along in that price. With wood from us, the total is $5.50/Sq Ft for unfinished or $6.00/Sq Ft for prefinished.
After we inspect it, yes. Any soft or crooked spots are fixed first, and then the oak is nailed into sound plywood.
An engineered plank. It floats over padding with a thin line of glue in each joint, so the concrete stays untouched. Labor for it is $2.00/Sq Ft.
We do. Vinyl plank labor is $2.00/Sq Ft and laminate is $1.99/Sq Ft, and vinyl is a wise pick for a wet lower level.
Next day. The trucks load at our Natick warehouse and drive west, so the job is not stuck waiting.
A tread is $60, including riser, nosing, stain and labor. Steps that are still solid can be refinished at $50 per step.
Labor is due as the crew begins and material when the cartons are dropped off. A sanding job is split, half at the start and half after the last coat.
Our labor carries a one-year warranty, and the manufacturer covers the wood itself. The people on site are licensed, insured and NWFA certified.
