Samples on Your Own Wood

Each trial color sits in its own square of blue tape on sanded oak, so you can compare the patches in bright sun and in shade.

Fine Grit Sanding First

Sander scratches become dark lines once color goes on, so a fine screen buffer passes over the oak before staining.

No Blotches or Lap Marks

Stain is wiped over a small stretch and the surplus lifted before we advance, which keeps lap marks from forming.

One Year Staining Warranty

In Oxford, Brazil Floors employees do the staining. They are NWFA trained and insured, and the labor is warrantied for twelve months.

What does floor staining cost in Oxford?

Oxford staining is $2.00/Sq Ft, with trial colors on your boards, hand applied stain and a clear protective top coat. When sanding is needed too, the full refinish is $2.50/Sq Ft.

Can I test shades on my floor before choosing?

Yes, we apply small test squares to your sanded oak and you inspect them by your own windows and lamps. No other board is touched until you decide.

Can red oak be made to look gray?

It can be done with a toner that neutralizes the red, and we prove the shade on a sample before committing. Warm browns and natural tones are simpler to reach than a deep gray.

Does staining include sanding?

Stain needs raw wood to absorb into, so the old finish must be stripped. That prep is part of the $2.50/Sq Ft refinishing service.

How soon can we use the room?

Socks only for the first day, with furniture out for two. Expect a curing period of about two weeks.

Does the crew carry furniture out and back?

Yes, for a flat $250. Nothing is left in the hallway.

How is payment divided?

Sanding is billed in two halves, the first at the start and the second after the last coat. Material is paid on delivery.

Is staining work backed up?

A year on labor from Brazil Floors. All of our people in your house are licensed and insured.
