Samples on Your Own Wood

Each sample is boxed in with blue tape on sanded oak, so you compare shades side by side in sun and in shadow.

Fine Grit Sanding First

Sanding scratches show as dark streaks once color goes on, so a buffer with fine screens follows the sander and a vacuum finishes the surface.

No Blotches or Lap Marks

Stain is wiped over a small area and the excess lifted before the next, so no overlap lines show.

One Year Staining Warranty

Our own payroll staff do every stain job, trained to NWFA standards, insured, and backed by a one-year labor warranty.

Floor Staining Across Bethlehem

We stain floors in farmhouses near the town green, capes on East Street, and ranches off Route 132 and around Long Meadow Pond. Many of these floors yellowed over time, so we take them to clean oak, tape samples in your rooms and seal after the stain dries.

Hardwood Floor Staining Services

Natural oak and dark walnut are the big favorites in town. Choose any color and we tape a sample of it on your floor.

Natural Look, No Stain

A farmhouse keeps its oak light with only a clear finish over the wood.

Gray and Driftwood Tones

Light gray suits a renovated ranch with white cabinets.

Dark Walnut and Espresso

A deep espresso grounds an older colonial and sets off bright trim.

Custom Color Mixing

A blend of two stains landed one household somewhere between honey and walnut.

Red Oak Toning

Red oak with a rosy cast takes a toner and settles into a warm brown.

Color Change on Old Floors

Floors that went orange with age are sanded clean and restained in mahogany.

What does floor staining cost in Bethlehem?

Staining is $2.00/Sq Ft, with stain samples on your own floor, hand-applied color and a clear protective coat. The complete sand, stain and three-coat refinishing service is the $2.50/Sq Ft one.

Can orange oak turn brown?

Yes. Once the old amber finish is sanded away, bare oak accepts brown, walnut or mahogany cleanly.

Can you match my existing floor in an addition?

We mix stains on site and test them on offcuts until the new boards match the old. You approve the sample before any stain goes on.

Will the color look like the can?

Not always, because oak changes every shade. That is why we apply samples on your own floor.

How long before I can walk on it?

Socks after about a day and furniture after two, depending on the coat and the weather.

Do you stain stairs too?

Yes. Treads are sanded and stained to match, and stair refinishing is $50 per step.

Who does the staining?

Our own employees do it, with no subcontractors. Every one is licensed, insured and NWFA certified.

When do I pay?

We split the sanding bill, half when we begin and half after the final coat. Booking the estimate online takes $250 off.
