Real tread blocks in all four woods come out of the estimator's truck at your Eastford visit. Set them on the floor at the foot of your stairs and the right wood shows itself fast.
Loose steps are screwed tight before anything new goes on. Then each tread is scribed to the stringers, glued and fastened so it never moves.
Every staircase is built by a licensed, insured, NWFA certified crew, and the labor is warrantied for a full year. Any squeak or loose tread gets fixed.

Each step is $60, and that covers the hardwood tread, riser, bull nose, stain to match your floor and labor. Nothing is added for a standard straight run.
Yes, we pull the carpet, pad, tack strips and staples before the new treads go on. The removal cost is agreed at the free estimate.
If the treads are solid wood and not cracked, we sand and refinish them for $50 a step. Soft, split or chewed treads are better replaced.

Most Eastford staircases are scheduled within a week and finished in a day. The stain and finish need overnight before heavy traffic.
