Our estimator shows up with sample treads, so you can hold red oak, hickory and white oak beside the bottom landing and settle on a stain under your own hallway lights.
Wobbly steps get anchored to the stringers first. Each new tread is scribed to fit snug against the side walls, glued and fastened, ending that creak on step five.
Our NWFA certified carpenters guarantee their stair labor for one year. Should any step loosen during those months, we come out and make it right.

Each new step is $60 installed, which includes the tread, a riser, the rounded nose, stain and labor. If a dresser or bookcase sits in the way, we can move furniture for a flat $250.
If the wood hiding under the carpet is sound, yes. Hand sanding and refinishing your current treads costs $50 a step, and the color is blended to suit your floors.
We do. The carpet, padding, nails and staples all come off, and then we see what shape the wood is in. Removal pricing gets confirmed at the free estimate.
Most staircases are finished in a day, two at most. At the estimate we'll explain when you can walk on the steps and how long the finish should cure before heavy use.
Usually, yes. We show you maple, hickory and both oaks at home, then mix the stain right there so the steps look right beside your hallway.
That's part of every job. Loose steps are screwed tight before any new tread is set, and every tread is glued and fastened so the noise stays gone.
When we install new treads, labor is due the day our carpenters arrive and materials when they're delivered. For refinishing existing steps, you pay 50 percent on day one and settle up after the last step is done.
One full year on our labor, on top of the manufacturer's coverage for materials. Every carpenter we send is NWFA certified, and we carry licensing and insurance.
