Laminate Floor InstallationIn Coventry, RI
Laminate that keeps up with a busy family
Foam underlayment went down first. Each plank was angled into the one before it and locked along the edge, with the ends staggered at random. We cut around the doorways and covered the edges with new trim.
Laminate needs room to move. Pin it too tight at the walls and it buckles in the summer, leave it too loose and the gaps show. In a large room the spacing has to be right on every side.
We let the boxes sit in the room to adjust, then measured so the last row would not end up as a thin sliver. Spacers held an even gap at every wall, hidden later under the trim.
The room has the warm look of oak and a floor that handles toys, paws and dragged chairs. Seams are tight, the rows run straight and the trim hides every edge.

- Click lock laminate in a light oak look
- Textured top layer that resists scratches
- Foam underlayment under every row
- Matching trim around the room
