Walkthrough Before We Start
Berkshire County houses settle in odd ways, so our lead installer checks the subfloor, the thresholds and the stair landing of your Richmond home before the first plank is opened.

Everybody who walks into your house is on the Brazil Floors payroll, never hired out, and carries a license, insurance and NWFA certification.
The crew re-measures each room on day one and stages cartons, reducers and trim near the rooms where they belong, which keeps the nailer working instead of searching the truck.
You get one year of labor warranty from us plus the mill warranty on the boards, so the workmanship and the wood are both covered after the crew leaves.

Boards follow the longest wall, which wastes the least wood and sets up the quickest install. A long farmhouse living room looks wider for it.

Short boards run at right angles in a zigzag, with every piece cut and fitted by hand. It fits a formal dining room in an older Berkshire house.

Each row is mitered at 45 degrees and meets its neighbor in a tidy V. It suits the open kitchens in recent builds on Yokun Ridge.

Planks set on the diagonal pull the eye across a room and make a small cottage kitchen feel roomier.

Oak squares with the grain alternating, in classic parquet style. A good finish for a sunroom facing the hills.

Short oak pieces woven over and under, often with a darker border. Many an old center hall in Richmond wears this pattern well.

Our nail down rate is $2.25/Sq Ft, which already carries the nails and the underlayment. Buying the wood through us brings the package to $5.50/Sq Ft unfinished or $6.00/Sq Ft prefinished.
Often yes. We inspect the old subfloor at the free estimate, fasten or replace what is loose, and then nail the new oak down over a sound base.
Engineered hardwood. The planks float with glued joints, so nothing is nailed into the slab, and labor for that method is $2.00/Sq Ft.
We do. Laminate labor is $1.99/Sq Ft and vinyl plank labor is $2.00/Sq Ft, and our vinyl is a good answer for a damp lower level.
Material ships from our Natick warehouse the next day after you order, so the boxes are usually at the house well before the crew begins.
A new tread runs $60 with riser, nosing, stain and labor included. Sound existing stairs can be sanded and refinished for $50 per step.
The crew is paid on arrival, and the material is paid for as the boxes reach your door. Any sanding is billed in two halves, one when it starts and one with the last coat.
Our labor carries a one year warranty and the planks carry the maker's warranty. Every installer holds a license, insurance and an NWFA certificate.
