Walkthrough Before We Start
Salt air, damp crawl spaces and decades of settling leave many Cape houses with floors that are not quite flat, so our lead inspects the subfloor, the thresholds and the stairs before any wood is opened.

Every installer who enters the house carries a license and insurance and has earned NWFA certification, which keeps you covered until the final sweep.
The first morning we take dimensions of each room and set cartons, trim and reducers where the work happens, so the installers never stop to search for a piece.
Our workmanship comes with one year of warranty, and the flooring brings its own manufacturer warranty on top of that.

Planks run alongside the longest wall, the layout with the least waste. A compact cottage reads longer and roomier that way.

Short pieces meet at right angles in a staggered pattern, each hand cut. A natural for a formal dining room in a historic house.

Each board end is mitered so rows form a crisp V. It flatters open layouts in newer builds near Pleasant Bay.

Laid on the diagonal, planks lead the eye across the room and make a small sunroom feel wider.

Oak squares alternate grain direction for a parquet pattern, a classic look for a sitting room or a screened porch.

Narrow oak strips are woven over and under and usually framed by a darker border. It belongs in an old captain's-style house.

Labor for nailing oak down is $2.25/Sq Ft, and that figure already contains the nails and underlayment. If we supply the oak, the total is $5.50/Sq Ft unfinished or $6.00/Sq Ft prefinished.
Yes. Carpet, pad and tack strips come up first, weak subfloor spots get fastened, and then the boards go down over solid plywood. Tear-out is about $1.00/Sq Ft.

We do, at $2.00/Sq Ft and $1.99/Sq Ft of labor. Vinyl plank is a sensible choice for a damp mudroom or a beach-house bathroom.
The day after you order. Product is stored in our Natick warehouse, so the crew is scheduled around that arrival.
Each hardwood tread is $60, riser, nosing and stain included. Worn existing stairs can be sanded and refinished for $50 a step.
Labor is paid on the day the crew begins, material when the boxes arrive, and a sanding job in halves, 50% at the start and 50% with the final coat.
One year of warranty on our labor and the manufacturer warranty on the wood. The staff are licensed, insured and certified by the NWFA.
