Walkthrough Before We Start
Our crew lead tours each room with you on day one, bounces on any spongy spot in the subfloor and marks where the oak will butt up to tile or carpet.

Whoever nails down your oak works for Brazil Floors directly and has passed NWFA certification. We carry the license and insurance, and no subcontractor shows up.
Before a single cut, everything gets measured a second time. Plank count, thresholds and the hall closet that never seems square all get checked so nothing comes up short.
If an oak plank we nailed starts to squeak or lift during the first year, we'll fix it. The mill covers the wood itself.

Planks laid end to end along the longest wall look right in nearly every house in Milford.

Herringbone zigzags short planks across the floor, each end pressed to the next one's side.

Chevron has angled ends, so each row meets the next in a crisp point down the room.

On the diagonal, rows angle at forty five degrees, which makes a narrow duplex bedroom feel wider.

Parquet uses small square blocks turned against one another, a look you still see in some old Milford living rooms.

Basketweave sets short pieces in pairs that alternate direction, much like a caned rocking chair seat.

Nailing down solid hardwood costs $2.25/Sq Ft in labor, underlayment and nails included. Want the oak from us too? Unfinished oak with installation is $5.50/Sq Ft all together; prefinished, $6.00/Sq Ft.
Sometimes. Houses built around 1910 often have plank subfloors with gaps or soft spots. We check every room at the estimate and tell you plainly if anything needs fixing first.
It can, and plenty of families here want one floor from the front hall straight through to the back slider. We'll talk about sealing near the sink and dishwasher so it holds up.
We cut the old carpet into strips, roll it with the pad and haul it all away for about $1.00/Sq Ft. Carrying the sectional and dressers to the garage and back in afterward is $250 flat.
Solid oak can't, but engineered hardwood can float over foam on concrete. Labor is $2.00/Sq Ft, every joint gets glued, and the slab stays free of nails.
In most cases the day after you order, on a Brazil Floors truck up Route 495 from Coventry. Solid hardwood then rests in the house for several days so it matches the indoor humidity.
No. You pay installation labor when the crew starts that first morning, and wood is paid when we unload it. The estimate costs nothing.
If our crew's installation gives you trouble inside of twelve months, the repair is free, and a defective plank is the mill's responsibility under its warranty. Another Milford installer quoted lower on paper? We'll beat that number.
