Walkthrough Before We Start
Mill-era houses settle in odd ways, so our lead installer presses the subfloor, checks door heights and studies the stairs before anything is ordered.
Mill-era houses settle in odd ways, so our lead installer presses the subfloor, checks door heights and studies the stairs before anything is ordered.
No subcontractors are involved. The installers in your home are Brazil Floors staff, licensed, insured and NWFA certified, and the finished floor is our responsibility.
Tape in hand, we go through each room at the first visit, note where floors change level and work out how many cartons the job needs. Row direction is decided before any nailing starts.
We warrant our labor for a full year, and the boards come with the manufacturer's own warranty. That covers the craftsmanship and the material alike.

Boards laid with the long wall cut the least waste and lengthen a compact living room.

Short pieces stepped into a zigzag give a dining room an old-world weave.

Mitered ends form sharp arrows that carry the eye down a hallway.

Planks set on the diagonal make a tight entry feel wider.

Squares of oak with alternating grain give a sunroom a classic parquet character.

A basket-weave center bordered in darker wood anchors a living room in an old Maynard two-family.

Our nail-down labor price of $2.25/Sq Ft already counts the nails and the underlayment. Supplied by us, the wood brings the package to $5.50/Sq Ft unfinished or $6.00/Sq Ft prefinished.
We can. Tear-out of old flooring is about $1.00/Sq Ft, and it covers the carpet, pad, tack strips and a check of the plywood below.
Engineered boards floated over underlayment, with labor at $2.00/Sq Ft. The slab is never nailed.
For wide planks that need extra hold. The labor is $2.50/Sq Ft with adhesive on top of that.
Furniture moving is a flat $250, and you are free to clear the rooms on your own.
Boxes go out the next day from the Natick warehouse. Your estimator and you then agree on a start.
Labor is paid as the crew begins, material as the boxes are delivered, and sanding is split half at the start and half at the final coat.
A one-year labor warranty from Brazil Floors, plus the maker's warranty on the oak. Every installer sent to your house is licensed, insured and NWFA certified.
