Walkthrough Before We Start
Hilltop houses here catch wind and winter dryness, so the oak sits in the house until a moisture meter shows it matches the subfloor. Only then does the first row go down.

The people who nail your Harwinton floor are Brazil Floors employees, each licensed, insured and NWFA certified. There is no second company in the picture.
Rooms are measured corner to corner and the cartons, trim and reducers are stacked in the order of installation. Nobody wanders off looking for a transition piece mid job.
Twelve months of labor warranty from us and the mill warranty on the oak itself. Both start the day the last threshold is set.

Boards follow the longest wall, which saves oak and goes quickest. A long farmhouse front room gains even more length.

Short lengths meet at right angles in a zigzag, each cut by hand. A fine look for the dining room of an older Harwinton colonial.

Rows mitered into a sharp V down the center, suited to the open kitchens in the newer homes off Route 118.

A 45 degree run pulls the eye across the room and opens up a narrow cape kitchen on Route 222.

Oak squares with alternating grain, classic parquet, right for a study or sunroom in Harwinton Center.

Short oak pieces woven inside a darker border, a pattern for the front rooms of Harwinton's older colonials.

Nail down labor is $2.25/Sq Ft and that already covers nails and underlayment. With our oak added, unfinished runs $5.50/Sq Ft and prefinished $6.00/Sq Ft.
Yes, tear out is roughly $1.00/Sq Ft for carpet, pad, tack strips and staples. Any loose subfloor is screwed tight before the oak arrives.
Usually several days, until the meter shows the boards and subfloor agree. Hilltop houses with forced hot air dry out fast in winter, so we check rather than guess.
Stocked oak leaves Milford for next day delivery to the house. Material is paid when the boxes arrive.
The estimate is free and the estimator sets oak, laminate and vinyl samples on your own floor. Booking online saves $250.
Ours, every time. Each installer is a licensed, insured, NWFA certified Brazil Floors employee.
We can, for a flat $250, and we set it back when the floor is ready. Anything heavy, a piano or a gun safe, gets talked through at the estimate.
Labor when the crew arrives, material separately on delivery. Our twelve month labor warranty runs from the day the job wraps up.
