Walkthrough Before We Start
Woodstoves dry the air hard all winter up here, so the lead installer meters both the subfloor and the new oak and lets the boxes sit in the house until the two agree.

Each installer who drives up Route 20 is a Brazil Floors employee, licensed, insured and NWFA certified. The job is never passed to an outside crew.
Every room is measured wall to wall, then cartons, trim and reducers are stacked in the order the rooms get laid, so the crew never stops to hunt for a piece.
Our one year labor warranty covers the installation, and the oak carries the mill's own warranty, so both the work and the wood are protected from the first day.

Boards run with the longest wall, which wastes the least oak and goes fastest, and a long farmhouse front room looks longer still.

Short pieces set at right angles in a zigzag, each cut by hand. A fine look for a dining room in a 1700s Hartland house.

Rows mitered to meet in a sharp V down the center, a fit for open kitchen additions on homes near the reservoir.

A 45 degree layout draws the eye corner to corner and widens a tight farmhouse kitchen on Route 20.

Oak blocks with the grain turned each way, classic parquet, right for a study or sunroom facing Tunxis State Forest.

Short oak pieces woven inside a darker border, a pattern that suits the front parlors of old East Hartland homes.

Nail down labor is $2.25/Sq Ft, with nails and underlayment inside that price. With our oak included, unfinished comes to $5.50/Sq Ft and prefinished to $6.00/Sq Ft.
Yes, tear out is about $1.00/Sq Ft and covers carpet, pad, tack strips and staples. Loose subfloor gets screwed down before the oak arrives.
The oak has to acclimate in the house for several days so it matches the dry winter air. We meter the boards and the subfloor before nailing a single row.
Stocked oak leaves the Milford warehouse for next day delivery, even to West Hartland. Material is paid when the boxes arrive.
Yes, the visit costs nothing and the estimator unloads oak, laminate and vinyl samples onto your own floor. Book it online and $250 comes off the job.
Our own employees every time, licensed, insured and NWFA certified. No Hartland job is handed to a subcontractor.
We move it for a flat $250 and put it back once the floor is ready. Pianos and safes get discussed at the estimate.
Labor is due when the crew arrives to start, material separately on delivery. The one year labor warranty starts at completion.
