Everyone who walks into your house works for us and carries a license, insurance and NWFA certification. Nobody is farmed out, so responsibility stays with Brazil Floors until the last room is swept.
The first visit begins with a tape measure in each room. Cartons, trim pieces and reducers are stacked inside the door, which keeps the crew moving once the boards start going down.
One year of labor warranty comes from us directly, and the manufacturer stands behind the oak or engineered planks separately, so both the workmanship and the wood have coverage.

Boards follow the long wall, which is the fastest layout and wastes the least wood. A narrow ranch living room looks longer for it.

Short boards alternate at right angles in a zigzag, each one cut by hand. It suits a formal dining room in a traditional colonial.

Each board is mitered at 45 degrees so the rows meet in a clean V. Open kitchens that flow into the den show it off.

Planks run diagonally across the room to pull the eye outward. That trick makes a compact kitchen feel bigger.

Small oak squares turn their grain back and forth in a parquet layout. It is a time-tested look in a den or a sunroom.

Narrow oak pieces weave over and under each other, usually with a darker border around the edge. It belongs in the front rooms of older houses.

Labor is $2.25/Sq Ft for nail-down with nails and underlayment included, $2.50/Sq Ft for nail-and-glue plus adhesive, and $2.00/Sq Ft for floating engineered planks. Take the wood from us as well and the installed package runs $5.50/Sq Ft for unfinished or $6.00/Sq Ft for prefinished.
Yes, and many Bloomfield ranches have decent plywood under the carpet. We pull the carpet, pad and staples, correct weak spots and nail the new oak down.
Old flooring comes out at about $1.00/Sq Ft, and furniture moving is a flat $250. Both appear on the written estimate.
Boxes ship from the Milford warehouse the next day after you choose. We schedule the crew around that delivery.
Labor is due when the crew arrives, and material is due when the boxes reach your door. If we sand on site, that part is paid half at the start and half after the last coat.
Prefinished has a tough factory coat and goes in fast, which suits a busy household. Unfinished is sanded flat after install and sealed as one surface, so it takes longer but gives a seamless look.
