Sanding marks turn into dark streaks under color, so fine screens and a second vacuum pass come before any stain goes on.
Color goes on in small patches, and the extra is lifted before the next patch begins, which keeps lap lines out of the seams.
In Trumbull, staining is done by Brazil Floors staff, NWFA trained and insured, and their labor carries twelve months of warranty.

Staining is $2.00/Sq Ft, covering samples on your own boards, hand applied color and a clear protective top coat. A job that needs the full sand and three poly coats is refinishing, $2.50/Sq Ft.

Sanding is paid in two halves, one at the start and one after the last coat. Other labor is paid on the crew's arrival.
