Samples on Your Own Wood
Before any color goes on, the whole floor is sanded bare so stain can soak in evenly. Dust collection stays on throughout, so you can still cook dinner and sleep upstairs.

The water based finish we brush over the stain dries clear without a heavy smell, and you can pick any sheen from matte to semi-gloss.
Several stain samples get brushed side by side on the bare wood. Check them in daylight from the windows and again in the evening, then tell us your pick.
Our labor on Northampton stain jobs is guaranteed for twelve months. Half the payment comes as sanding starts, the remainder once the job is wrapped up and dry.

Northampton staining falls under our $2.50/Sq Ft refinishing rate, covering sanding, your stain color and each layer of finish. Want the crew to clear the rooms? That costs a flat $250.

Often, if the real wood layer on top is thick enough to sand. We check under a floor vent or at a doorway first, and when the veneer is too thin, we'll tell you plainly.
You can walk on it barefoot once the finish dries, and furniture goes back after it cures. We'll write out your timeline when we come for the estimate.
We collect half as sanding begins, and the rest when the finish is done. Nothing is paid before the crew pulls into your Northampton driveway.
Yes. Treads can take the same color as your hallway. We try it on a leftover tread first, making sure the steps and the floors at each end match.
