Samples on Your Own Wood

Each sample is outlined in blue tape on sanded oak so you can compare shades side by side, by a window and in shade.

Fine Grit Sanding First

Sanding marks darken into streaks under stain, so a buffer with fine screens follows the sander and a vacuum finishes the surface.

No Blotches or Lap Marks

Stain goes on one patch at a time and the surplus is lifted before the next, so no lap marks show between sections.

One Year Staining Warranty

Brazil Floors employees apply your stain, insured and trained to NWFA standards, and their labor is warrantied for a year.

Floor Staining Throughout Bolton

We stain floors in Bolton capes, colonials by the Green, ranches near the Notch and homes in the Hop River valley. Many of these floors turned orange with age, so we take them to clean oak, tape samples in your rooms and seal once dry.

Hardwood Floor Staining Services

Natural oak and dark walnut are popular in Bolton. Pick any shade you like and we tape a sample on your floor.

Natural Look, No Stain

A cape keeps its oak light with only a clear finish.

Gray and Driftwood Tones

Light gray works in a remodeled ranch with white cabinets.

Dark Walnut and Espresso

Espresso deepens a colonial and sets off white trim.

Custom Color Mixing

One homeowner combined two stains and landed between honey and walnut.

Red Oak Toning

A rosy red oak floor, toned down, ends up a warm brown.

Color Change on Old Floors

An orange floor from the past gets sanded to clean wood and stained mahogany.

How much does staining a floor cost in Bolton?

The staining price is $2.00/Sq Ft, which covers samples laid on your floor, color applied by hand and a clear protective coat. A full sand-stain-three-coat job is the $2.50/Sq Ft refinishing service.

Can orange oak become brown?

Yes. After the orange finish is sanded off, bare oak takes brown, walnut or mahogany with no tint left over.

Can you match new boards to my old floor?

On site we mix stains and try them on scrap pieces until old and new look the same. You approve the sample before we start.

Will the color match the can label?

Not exactly, since each board of oak takes color a little differently. That is why samples go on your floor.

When can I walk on it?

In socks after about a day and with furniture back after two, depending on weather.

Do you stain stairs too?

Yes. Treads are sanded and stained to match, and refinishing existing stairs is $50 per step.

Who does the work?

Only Brazil Floors staff, each one licensed, insured and NWFA certified.

How is sanding paid for?

Half at the start and half at the final coat. Book the estimate online and take $250 off.
