Every installer in your East Hartford home draws a Brazil Floors paycheck and carries a license, insurance and NWFA certification, so your property and the job stay protected.
The crew measures every apartment or room, stacks cartons and trim by the entry and gives the oak time to settle, because the lower floors near the Connecticut River hold damp.
The labor is covered for a year by us and the planks by their manufacturer, so the nailing and the wood each have their own backing.

Boards parallel to the longest wall, the fastest layout with the least cutting. A Mayberry Village cape looks longer for it.

Short pieces set at 90 degrees in a zigzag, fitted one by one. A period look for a dining room in a prewar Main Street home.

Rows mitered at 45 degrees meeting in a clean V. Suits the open plans of remodeled homes near Goodwin University.

Planks set diagonal to the walls carry the eye across the room and widen a small Hockanum cape kitchen.

Oak squares with the grain turned each square, parquet fashion. A classic for a sunroom facing the river near Great River Park.

Short oak pieces woven over and under with a darker border. Found in the older houses between Main Street and Burnside Avenue.

Nail-down labor is $2.25/Sq Ft with nails and underlayment in the price, and nail-and-glue is $2.50/Sq Ft plus adhesive. With oak from us the installed package is $5.50/Sq Ft unfinished or $6.00/Sq Ft prefinished.
Yes, we schedule each unit separately so tenants are disturbed for only a few days. Stairs and common halls can be added to any unit.
We remove carpet, pad and tack strips for about $1.00/Sq Ft and screw down any soft subfloor. The oak is then nailed over sound plywood.
Engineered hardwood floated on foam with a vapor barrier beneath. Solid oak should never be nailed to concrete.
Three to five days in the rooms where it will be installed. Delivery from Milford is the next day, so that wait begins almost at once.
Employees of Brazil Floors, each licensed, insured and NWFA certified. We send no subcontractors into East Hartford homes.
Labor is paid as the crew begins and material when the boxes reach the house. Moving the furniture, if you would rather we did it, is a flat $250.
One year on the labor from Brazil Floors plus the manufacturer warranty on the planks. Any gap or squeak from our work is fixed free.
