Walkthrough Before We Start
Farmhouses and old colonials in town settle over the decades, so our crew lead checks the subfloor, the thresholds and every stair before any board is ordered.

Everyone who works in your house is licensed, insured and NWFA certified, and every one of them is on our payroll, never a subcontractor.
On the first visit we measure each room and stack the cartons, trim and reducers near the door, which keeps the install moving without trips back to the truck.
You get a one-year labor warranty from Brazil Floors, and the flooring itself keeps the manufacturer warranty, so both the work and the wood are covered.

Boards laid along the longest wall use the least material and make a narrow room read longer.

Short pieces set in a zigzag at 90 degrees, each one cut by hand. Right for a dining room in a village colonial.

Each row is mitered at 45 degrees so the boards meet in a clean V down the middle of an open layout.

Planks set diagonally lead the eye across the room, so a small kitchen near Burnham Library feels wider.

Oak squares turn their grain in alternating directions, a traditional parquet look for a sunroom.

Short oak strips woven over and under, usually framed by a darker border, a classic in homes on the older roads.

Nail-down labor is a flat $2.25/Sq Ft, with nails and underlayment included. If we supply the wood too, the installed price is $5.50/Sq Ft for unfinished boards and $6.00/Sq Ft for prefinished.
The carpet does not stay under the new floor. We pull it with the padding and tack strips, fix any soft spots in the subfloor, then nail the oak down over sound plywood.
Floating engineered planks over foam, with glue in each joint, keeps nails out of the slab entirely. Labor on that method is $2.00/Sq Ft. Labor for that method is $2.00/Sq Ft.
We do. Vinyl plank labor is $2.00/Sq Ft and laminate is $1.99/Sq Ft, and waterproof vinyl is the better pick near Lake Lillinonah where humidity lingers.
The next day, straight from our Milford warehouse. Once the boxes are at the house the crew can usually schedule the start quickly.
One new hardwood tread costs $60 and comes with its riser, nosing and stain. Stairs that are still sound can be sanded and refinished at $50 per step.
Labor is paid when the crew arrives and begins, and material when the boxes are delivered. Sanding jobs are billed in two halves, one when the sander starts and one at the last coat.
Labor carries a one-year warranty from Brazil Floors and the flooring keeps its manufacturer warranty. Our installers are on the Brazil Floors payroll, with the license, the insurance and the NWFA certification to back every job.
