Samples on Your Own Wood

Samples are boxed in blue tape on sanded oak, so you can compare colors side by side, in sunlight and in the shade.

Fine Grit Sanding First

Sanding lines turn into dark streaks under color, so a buffer with fine screens follows the sander and the vacuum finishes the room.

No Blotches or Lap Marks

Stain is wiped onto a manageable patch and the excess pulled off before the next one, so no lap marks show between sections.

One Year Staining Warranty

Staining in Windsor is done by Brazil Floors employees who are NWFA trained and insured, and their labor is warrantied for one year.

Hardwood Floor Staining Services

Mahogany and natural oak are popular across town. Choose any shade and a sample of it gets taped off for you to see.

Natural Look, No Stain

A Deerfield ranch keeps its oak light and true, with only a clear finish over the wood.

Gray and Driftwood Tones

Light gray works in a remodeled Wilson kitchen with white shaker cabinets.

Dark Walnut and Espresso

Espresso grounds a Windsor Center colonial and sets its white trim apart.

Custom Color Mixing

A Palisado Avenue family picked a blend of two cans that landed between honey and walnut.

Red Oak Toning

Red oak near the Farmington River gets a toner, and its pink undertone settles into warm brown.

Color Change on Old Floors

Orange floors in older Windsor homes are sanded off and turned a deep mahogany.

How much does floor staining cost in Windsor?

Staining is $2.00/Sq Ft, with stain samples on your own floor, hand applied color and a clear protective top coat. A full sand, stain and three coats refinish is $2.50/Sq Ft.

Can I see the color before you stain the whole floor?

Yes, we tape off sample squares on your sanded oak and let you pick in your own light. Nothing goes on the full floor until you choose.

Can red oak look gray or cool toned?

Yes, with a toner that cancels the red, though the exact shade is checked on a sample first. Natural oak and light colors are easier than deep gray.

Do I have to sand first?

Stain only takes on bare wood, so old finish has to come off. Sanding is part of the full refinishing job at $2.50/Sq Ft.

How long before the floor is dry?

Plan on socks only after 24 hours and furniture after 48. The finish keeps curing for a couple of weeks.

Do you move furniture?

Moving furniture is a flat $250. We put everything back when the floor is dry.

When is payment due?

For sanding work, 50% is due at the start and 50% when the last coat goes on. Material is paid on delivery.

Is the work warranted?

Yes, one year on labor from Brazil Floors. The crew is licensed and insured.
